Program Information
The Jacksonville Electrical Apprenticeship Program prepares individuals to work as electricians in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Apprentices receive training in electrical theory, blueprint reading, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Hands-on experience includes wiring, motor controls, and troubleshooting electrical systems under the guidance of skilled journeymen.
The program also covers advanced topics such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), renewable energy systems, and electrical safety practices.
Program Length
4-5 years (includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 800+ hours of classroom instruction)
Program Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficiency in math and science
