Electrician Apprentice – National Traveling Team (Interstates Inc.) – Omaha, NE
Program Information
The Electrician Apprentice position with Interstates Inc. offers a unique opportunity to work as part of a national traveling team that supports large-scale industrial and commercial electrical projects across the United States. Interstates Inc. is widely recognized for its commitment to quality workmanship, workforce development, and a strong culture of safety. Apprentices in this program gain hands-on experience assisting experienced journeyman electricians and field leaders on job sites that vary in size, complexity, and location. This provides exposure to a wide range of electrical installations, construction environments, and advanced industrial systems.
The apprenticeship emphasizes practical learning in real-world conditions. Participants work with power tools, conduit systems, wiring components, motors, and electrical equipment while learning proper installation, testing, and repair techniques. The program also introduces apprentices to industrial processes, instrumentation systems, and electrical construction standards used in manufacturing facilities, processing plants, and large commercial structures. This traveling role allows apprentices to gain specialized experience while building a skillset that is valued nationwide, especially within the industrial electrical field.
Interstates’ culture focuses heavily on mentorship and safety. Apprentices work closely with journeyman electricians, field foremen, and superintendents who provide hands-on guidance, job-site training, and feedback. Safety is considered a shared responsibility, and all employees are expected to follow strict protocols to ensure zero-injury performance. The company encourages apprentices to take leadership in maintaining safe work environments and to develop confidence working at heights, in confined spaces, and in active construction zones.
