Job Description
Kelso Industries (Wallace Electric) is seeking motivated Commercial and Industrial Electrical Apprentices for a long-term, two-year project in Montgomery, Alabama. This role provides hands-on experience supporting large-scale commercial and industrial electrical work under the supervision of experienced electricians. Candidates must live in or near Montgomery, AL.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
- Pull wire, install conduit, and stage materials for commercial and industrial projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams
- Support testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–4 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
- Enrollment in or willingness to enter an accredited electrical apprenticeship program
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, tools, and materials
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and desire to learn
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor
Preferred Skills
- Previous construction or electrical experience
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
