Program Information
TIC – The Industrial Company is hiring a Lineworker Apprentice 3 to support electrical distribution and transmission work at the PITTS site in Ardmore, Oklahoma. This semi-skilled apprenticeship role is designed for individuals who already have foundational field experience and are continuing to build advanced skills under the supervision of experienced craft professionals.
Apprentices in this role work directly with high-voltage electrical systems and utility infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of power systems in demanding industrial environments.
Training & Hands-On Experience
The Lineworker Apprentice supports electrical and linework operations involving:
- Electrical distribution and transmission systems
- Transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and relays
- Overhead and underground conductors and cables
- Utility poles, towers, trenches, and pylons
- Grounding systems and electrical hazard mitigation
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical transmission and distribution systems
- String and tension conductors and cables between poles, towers, and structures
- Climb utility poles or operate bucket trucks to access elevated equipment
- Identify and troubleshoot defective electrical components using diagrams and test instruments
- Install insulating and fireproofing materials on conductors and joints
- Excavate and drill holes to erect and maintain electrical structures
- Open switches or apply grounding devices to remove electrical hazards
- Follow all safety procedures, project rules, and site-specific requirements

Semi-Skilled Apprentice
Program Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior field experience in electrical, linework, or related trades
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools
- Ability to climb and work at heights exceeding 200 feet
- Comfort working in confined spaces and all weather conditions
- Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required
- Must meet all physical job requirements and supply required tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Work Environment
This role involves outdoor industrial work in varied and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Apprentices must be comfortable working at significant heights, around energized systems, and on physically demanding job sites.
This position is well-suited for apprentices seeking to advance toward full journeyman-level lineworker or electrical careers within large-scale industrial and utility projects.
