Program Information

North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) in Wahpeton offers a comprehensive Welding Technology program that equips students with the technical knowledge and hands-on experience required for successful welding careers. The program combines classroom instruction in welding theory and metallurgy with extensive lab work in modern facilities. Students learn multiple welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).

In addition to welding techniques, students develop strong skills in blueprint reading, metal fabrication, layout, and inspection. Hands-On Training
