Program Information

The Southern Nevada Joint Apprenticeship Training Center (JATC) is one of Nevada’s leading training providers for individuals pursuing careers in the electrical trade. The center operates in partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), offering a comprehensive apprenticeship designed to develop highly skilled electricians for residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Apprentices receive a blend of classroom instruction and structured on-the-job training. Coursework covers electrical theory, blueprint reading, conduit bending, residential and commercial wiring, motor controls, grounding and bonding, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Students also train on advanced topics such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation technologies, fiber optics, and renewable energy systems including solar installations.

The JATC’s training facility is equipped with simulated work environments, lab stations, and industry-grade tools to ensure realistic, hands-on learning. Apprentices earn wages and benefits while progressing through the program, giving them both experience and financial stability as they work toward journeyman status.
