Job Description
THOR Motor Coach is seeking a Mechanical Apprentice to join its Maintenance Department in Wakarusa, Indiana. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The role is ideal for candidates interested in building hands-on mechanical skills in a manufacturing and maintenance environment, with training provided for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems
- Support engine, transmission, and electronic system repairs
- Perform oil changes and routine preventative maintenance
- Assist with tire repair and replacement
- Work on electric forklifts and vehicles powered by gas, diesel, and LP engines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Job Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude with interest in vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Experience or exposure to diagnostics, engine or transmission repair, and electronics preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL preferred but not required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
