Program Information

Berk Trade and Business School offers comprehensive programs designed to prepare students for careers in the electrical and plumbing trades. Key programs include:

  • Electrical Installation Program: This 600-clock-hour program spans 30 weeks and prepares students for entry-level positions in the electrical field. The curriculum covers residential and commercial electrical principles, including blueprint reading, wiring, and installation of various electrical applications. Students receive both classroom instruction and hands-on lab experience.
  • Comprehensive Plumbing Program: Also a 600-clock-hour, 30-week program, this course equips students with the skills needed for entry-level positions in the plumbing industry. Training includes layout, measurement, installation, and connection of various types of pipes and fittings, as well as reading blueprints and using plumbing tools.

Program Length

Both the Electrical Installation and Comprehensive Plumbing programs are structured as follows:

  • Duration: 600 clock hours over 30 weeks.
  • Class Schedules: Classes meet five days per week, with options for morning (9:00 A.M. to 3:10 P.M.), afternoon (3:00 P.M. to 9:10 P.M.), and evening sessions (6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.). Day classes are 6 hours per day for completion in 5 months, while evening classes are 4 hours per day for completion in 7.5 months.

Certifications & Career Opportunities

Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as electrician or plumber apprentices in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The school provides placement assistance to help graduates secure employment.

Program Requirements

  • Completion of an Application for Admission.
  • Possession of a High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma (GED), or passing an independently administered Ability-To-Benefit Test.
  • Minimum age of 17 years.
