Installation Apprentice

Job Description

C-TEC is seeking a dependable and motivated Installation Apprentice to join its trash and linen chute installation team. This hands-on apprenticeship offers the opportunity to learn a specialized trade while working on commercial and multi-story buildings such as hospitals, hotels, apartments, and high-rise facilities. No prior chute installation experience is required—full training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of trash and linen chutes from floor to floor
  • Work with sheet metal components, doors, frames, and intake hoppers
  • Safely use hand and power tools
  • Read basic drawings and follow installation plans
  • Measure, cut, fasten, and seal installation components
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Travel to job sites and work collaboratively as part of an installation crew

Job Requirements

  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a hands-on environment
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
  • Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset
  • Physical ability to lift equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in confined or outdoor environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical coursework or exposure to electrical or mechanical trades is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
