Program Information
Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 716 offers comprehensive apprenticeship programs in plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC. Apprentices work with experienced professionals, learning how to install, repair, and maintain plumbing and HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The program is designed to equip apprentices with the knowledge and skills needed for long-term success in the trade. With a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction, apprentices are well-prepared to earn certifications and advance to journeyman status upon completion of the program. The union also offers continuing education opportunities to ensure apprentices stay up-to-date on industry standards and technologies.
Program Length
The apprenticeship program lasts for 4 to 5 years, with apprentices completing up to 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and receiving at least 576 hours of classroom instruction each year.
Program Requirements
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and pass a math exam. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a drug test are required. Applicants should be prepared for physically demanding work and be committed to completing the apprenticeship program.
