Program Information

UMC, Inc. is seeking motivated individuals to join its Plumbing Apprentice Program in Denver, Colorado. Training Structure

Apprentices work under the supervision of Journeymen and Site Superintendents while gaining hands-on experience in plumbing installation and jobsite operations. Responsibilities include pipe assembly, trench digging, water supply cleaning, tool handling, and jobsite cleanup.

Apprentices are expected to attend or be enrolled in a Plumbing Apprentice school while developing technical skills through real-world field experience. The program emphasizes continuous learning, safety compliance, and adherence to proper installation procedures.

Work Environment

Work is performed on active construction job sites and frequently involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise levels, and outdoor weather conditions. Apprentices may work in cramped quarters, overhead spaces, and physically demanding environments.

Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and maintaining good vision. Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Key Responsibilities

Arrive at job sites on time to participate in pre-planning and safety meetings. Assemble pipes, dig trenches, clean water supply systems, handle tools, and maintain clean job sites. Perform additional duties as assigned by Journeymen or Site Superintendents.

Ensure all work is performed using proper installation procedures and safety practices. Demonstrate integrity, humility, and a strong desire to grow within the plumbing trade.

Program Requirements

  • Current Apprentice Plumber License
  • Intent to attend or current enrollment in Plumbing Apprentice school
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Ability to pass a physical and drug screening
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work overhead, in confined spaces, and outdoors

Tools & Certifications
