Program Information

Richmond Technical Center offers comprehensive, hands-on training in HVAC, Automotive Repair, and Welding, designed to equip students with the skills needed for high-demand technical careers.

HVAC Program: Students learn to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, with a curriculum that covers both residential and commercial applications. Courses include system diagnostics, energy efficiency practices, and safety protocols. Graduates are prepared to take industry-recognized certification exams, such as EPA Section 608.

Automotive Repair Program: This program focuses on essential vehicle maintenance and repair skills, including diagnostics, engine and transmission repairs, brake systems, suspension work, and electrical troubleshooting. Students have access to modern diagnostic tools and work on real vehicles to gain practical experience. ASE certification preparation is included.

Welding Program: The Welding program provides instruction in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques. Students learn to read blueprints, understand metallurgy, and apply proper safety procedures. The program includes opportunities to earn certifications through the American Welding Society (AWS), enhancing employability in various industries.

All programs integrate classroom instruction with practical experience, including internships and job placement opportunities with local businesses, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for real-world challenges.

Program Length

Programs typically take 9 months to 1 year to complete, with students earning a certification or diploma upon successful completion. Some courses may offer accelerated options or evening classes to accommodate working adults.
