Program Overview
The Texas Maintenance Development Plumber Apprentice Program is designed for individuals eager to begin a professional career in plumbing. This full-time, entry-level position provides practical, on-the-job experience working alongside experienced plumbing professionals in both residential and commercial settings. Hands-On Training
Apprentices will gain experience through supervised work in the following areas:
- Installation & Repair: Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, fixtures, and piping.
- Blueprint Reading: Learn to interpret blueprints and schematics to understand plumbing layouts.
- Tool Proficiency: Safely use hand tools and power tools for cutting, threading, welding, and fitting pipes.
- Construction Support: Participate in construction and remodeling projects including HVAC-related plumbing work.
- Worksite Organization: Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
Certification & Licensing Prep
- Practical training hours applicable toward Texas state plumber apprenticeship licensing requirements.
- Preparation for journeyman plumber licensing under licensed supervision.
- Experience in residential, commercial, and maintenance plumbing environments.
