TravelCenters of America is seeking an Apprentice Diesel Technician to join its service team in Lamar, Pennsylvania. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic testing on diesel engines and related systems and accurately interpret results
- Assist with mechanical and electrical repairs under the guidance of experienced technicians
- Develop repair plans and communicate findings with Service Advisors
- Safely and efficiently complete repairs to meet service standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Recommend additional maintenance or repair services during inspection reviews
- Follow all safety protocols to protect customers, coworkers, and equipment
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
- $2,500 bonus after 6 months and an additional $2,500 bonus after 1 year

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of an approved trade or technical school OR prior mechanical experience
- Strong interest in diesel mechanics and willingness to continue learning
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfortable working flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Ability to meet physical job demands with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to invest in personal tools
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to mechanical equipment, grease, oil, fumes, vibration, and noise
- Physical duties include standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces
