Program Information
The New Jersey Sheet Metal Workers Apprenticeship Program trains apprentices in sheet metal fabrication, installation, and repair for both commercial and residential applications. Apprentices work with metal materials to fabricate, install, and maintain ductwork, roofing systems, and other metal components. The program provides both classroom instruction and hands-on, on-the-job training to ensure that apprentices learn proper installation techniques, system design, and safety protocols.
Graduates are skilled in all aspects of sheet metal work, including welding, bending, and cutting metal for a variety of construction applications.

5 years (includes 10,000 hours of on-the-job training)
Program Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical skills
- Ability to work with hand tools and power tools
