Program Overview

The Plumbers & Pipefitters Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) offers a comprehensive program designed to train individuals for successful careers in the plumbing and pipefitting trades. Apprentices receive extensive instruction in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems used in heating, cooling, water supply, and industrial applications. The program blends classroom instruction with supervised on-the-job training to ensure apprentices master both technical and practical trade skills.

Graduates are fully qualified to work in the plumbing, heating, and pipefitting industries and are prepared to pursue Journeyman certification upon program completion.

Hands-On Training

Apprentices participate in real-world projects and structured classroom education, covering topics such as:

  • Installation and maintenance of plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Welding, soldering, and threading of pipes and fittings.
  • Blueprint reading and system layout design.
  • Industrial piping, gas fitting, and hydronic systems.
