Program Information

Seacoast School of Technology (SST) offers a diverse array of career and technical education programs designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge for various industries. Key programs include:

  • Animal & Plant Science: Focuses on the care of animals and plants, preparing students for careers such as veterinarian, veterinary technician, or greenhouse manager. Facilities include a veterinary technician station, aquarium room, greenhouse, and small animal room.
  • Automotive Technologies: Provides comprehensive training in automotive systems and repair, utilizing industry-standard tools and diagnostic equipment in a 13-bay automotive facility. The program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).
  • Biomedical Science & Technology: Covers advanced biological techniques and prepares students for careers in medical and scientific fields. The program features a fully equipped lab with state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Building Construction Technologies: Teaches skills in carpentry, framing, remodeling, and green building. Students gain hands-on experience by working on real construction and renovation projects in the local community.
  • Culinary Arts: Offers training in food and kitchen safety, commercial baking, advanced cooking techniques, and food service. Students operate Julia’s Restaurant and participate in a catering business.
  • Health Science Technologies: Prepares students for careers in healthcare, covering human anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care skills. Students can earn First Aid and CPR certifications, with selected students having the opportunity to earn their Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Certificate.
  • Welding Technologies: Provides instruction in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. The program operates as a functioning metal fabrication and repair shop, allowing students to work on real projects from the community.

SST emphasizes hands-on learning, with state-of-the-art labs and facilities to ensure students are well-prepared for the workforce.

Program Length

Programs are designed to be completed over the course of two academic years, typically during the junior and senior years of high school. Each program includes both classroom instruction and practical, hands-on experience.
